I have a 100kwh battery (my car, Zeekr 7x, in Australia). That can run quite a few days or even a week with careful usage.
killingtime74··on Cloudflare Turnstile solver library (no headless browser required)
Cloudflare can't win in the long term. The rest of the world just has too much resources compared to them.

Is this mid air turbulence or the engine flaming out prior to a crash?

Maybe they should have released Gemini Carbon for real rather than teasing it.

killingtime74··on Proton CEO Andy Yen: "This will be the last year that we hire engineers."
I concluded that the best alternative is to use a simple email host like iCloud with your own domain, which is free if you pay for their storage, and then move everything important to Signal.
killingtime74··on We're releasing the weights of Mistral Large 4
If all these labs are doing it, it shows that they don't care about any high-minded concepts like being "open source"
killingtime74··on Gemini 4 Carbon is the new #1 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5
Of course he would, he paid a lot for the privilege.
killingtime74··on Nvidia Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe: open ASR for 40 languages

killingtime74··on Nvidia Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe: open ASR for 40 languages
There are apps on the Google Play Store where you can run on-device models or connect to OpenRouter where they are run for you. Im using Qwen 3 ASR locally on my android, it's the second most accurate open model after the one in this post.
killingtime74··on Four Months of Zig
There's always a hard sell with Zig. Unpopular opinion but I'm sorry Go and Rust made big leaps in different areas, and Zig is just always going to be a faster horse.
killingtime74··on Solar power is becoming bigger than nuclear
Cloudy days don't matter if you over provision. You can add way more panels than your inverter can handle to account for the cloudy days. Night is another story, of course.
killingtime74··on New 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M6
Standard issue at our company. There's just some apps that are huge, especially legacy ones.

killingtime74··on Microsoft and others tell crypto platform not to tokenize their stocks
They already found it with money laundering, but boosters just don't want to admit it and keep saying there will eventually be something better to be found.
killingtime74··on Microsoft offers mass buyouts for roughly a quarter of its workforce
This is really a grass is greener scenario because I just left there (NZ) along with a large amount of people I know because of the bad economy.

Make more money? Get 4x the press releases and marketing
killingtime74··on GPT-6.1 Terra
Enterprise users are the majority of the users in value. Subscribers are the loss leader hobbyists.
killingtime74··on GPT-6.1 Terra
You wouldn't believe any of that if you've used MiMo 2.6 Pro. DeepSeek 4.1 flash 1017 is better in actual use in every regard.
killingtime74··on OpenAI and Anthropic cut their LLM prices by up to 80% within a few months. Why?
DeepSeek has released their weights so multiple companies can tell you if they're profitable, whereas the ones with closed weights, you will never know, even if they go public, they dont have to publish the actual margin.
killingtime74··on Root shell on Samsung TV
It's as if an intern added it and then they just forgot about it.
killingtime74··on SlopCodeBench 10/2026 – Opus 5.5, Astra wins overall, xhigh considered harmful
Ultra is not a thinking level I understand. Max is the highest. Ultra gets it to spawn more subagents.
killingtime74··on DeepSeek just open-sourced its inference engine
Yes surely if they are benefited we must lose.... Somehow I just have to think of the reason..../s
killingtime74··on It's still ok to enjoy programming
Why does someone else/ai doing it make it worse for you? Did you enjoy making it? You know before llms there were always people better looking, richer, smarter, etc. Llms didn't invent this problem.
killingtime74··on DeepSeek banned from U.S. federal civilian agencies under new DHS order
Probably hire people to do it themselves. They are the government, after all.

Even before LLMs they were getting this volume and they just ran what is basically a search engine over them. They don't need to discard anything. (Worked at a job search place)

The anthropic API was serving the deepseek search API?

I think opencode go is the better value to get access to DeepSeek.

Really stretching the language to make it meaningless. Changing a job is now insider trading? While there's no actual trading of anything? No shares being bought or sold. No insider information being leaked out.
