lousken··on No CVE Today, Please
It's ok, the more companies have airgap systems the better.
lousken··on Ask HN: What in the world is taking Ubuntu so long?
Why is anyone surprised about this? Ubuntu had a shitty track record of critical vulns for a long time, seeing so many in Wazuh was fun.
lousken··on Anthropic IPO buyers see valuation as low as $1.1T
What? Imho that is still way too much, I wouldn't go above 400B, considering if z.ai is about 128B
lousken··on Debian apt security update: man-in-the-middle arbitrary code execution
you can inspect the traffic even without ssl inspection
lousken··on Sam Altman's Case Against Your RAM Is Efficient. That's the Problem
His wealth is also 95% unused, it should be given away.
lousken··on WTF Ubuntu?
+1, switched to Debian with 13 since it got plasma 6 earlier. Much better experience- no snaps, gnu utils, stable. It's everything I want from the OS.
lousken··on Norway makes shithouses great again
The US should take better care of people with mental illness... oh wait
lousken··on Anthropic takes steps to block Claude from reverse-engineering video games
So they own a bio lab but we cant even reverse engineer? Touché, Anthropic
lousken··on French national assembly votes 0.055€/GB internet tax
why not tax ai instead?
lousken··on Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5
It is embarrassing how much they suck up to american labs while those models only perform the first few days after release. With open weights you can be sure the quality stays the same unlike the closed source crap. How about a retest after some time?
lousken··on OpenAI and Anthropic cut their LLM prices by up to 80% within a few months. Why?
My issue with anthropic and openai is that if I use a model like e.g. Sonnet 5 I don't always get full Sonnet 5, sometimes it's dumber, sometimes it is smarter (mostly dumber though), while GLM, Kimi and others stay the same. So if I rely on AI for things I better make sure the platform is stable and does not introduce hidden changes.

Why is opus 5.5 suddenly a lot dumber? Who knows.

lousken··on Anthropic S-1
Lets burn it down to the ground!
lousken··on JetBrains Thinkrail
Where is local model support and just any openai compatible api support? Pi agent is compatible with more stuff
lousken··on Root shell on Samsung TV
now is the best time in history to buy a tv

just hack it right after purchase and own the glass

lousken··on CVE Tracker
This is what AI companies meant by embracing the exponential?

lousken··on Anthropic's proposed AI safety bill only kicks in if 50 deaths or $1B in damages
How many deaths are already attributed to chatgpt?
lousken··on Development statistics for the 7.2 kernel
Not good enough, I am testing if some agent is checking hackernews and will fix it for me
lousken··on OpenCode Hacked: User credentials leaked
If i dont use any of their models nor i am signed in, is that a problem? i dont see anything in wireshark except for models.opencode.ai
lousken··on Development statistics for the 7.2 kernel

lousken··on Vibe coded browser ports of Halo, The Simpsons: Hit And Run, GTA work well
I dont remember which of their products were a success in recent memory apart from Gemini ...
lousken··on The RAM shortage is bringing back DDR4
This will drive linux adoption like nothing else.
lousken··on Anthropic Bans Cruelty to Claude, Still Won't Say What It Protects
Definitely training on all user data, there is no other explanation, right?
lousken··on Vibe coded browser ports of Halo, The Simpsons: Hit And Run, GTA work well
I mean it was a great anticheat tool even back in the day, still no clue why they closed down. New battlefield or call of duty wouldnt need kernel anticheats.
lousken··on Anthropic Subscriptions Offer 5x+ More Value Than OpenAI
Or more like anthropic will increase prices by 5x soon
lousken··on Run Qwen 3.8 Flash Next (125B) on consumer hardware (RTX 4090) at 100T/s

lousken··on AI needs $6T in annual revenue to justify data centre boom
The sooner it pops the better
