nubinetwork··on Chained PHP2Shell exploit roots 25 servers, including US Government servers
> Since this discovery, the Dream research team has been sharing updates and collaborating on an investigation with Palo Alto Networks, the vendor of the firewall in question. More information is available on the Palo Alto Networks website. Additional details are now included in the post itself.
nubinetwork··on Zero click, silent, remote Android DoS
Reminds me of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stagefright_(bug)
nubinetwork··on Getting debug access on a Brother printer over Telnet
But what do those numbers mean?
nubinetwork··on The Grid, a factory-scale robot in Massachusetts that builds PCBs on demand
> So you pay about $165 more than the Shenzhen shop and get your boards five days sooner, with no customs and a supply chain you can count on.

A supply chain that also comes from Shenzhen... last time I checked, North America doesn't make chips or other components either.

nubinetwork··on PHP2Shell: Exploitation attempts and remediation trends
Amazon said 4 days prior to patch, but I'm pretty sure the other one was cloudflare, I can't find the link in my browser history.
nubinetwork··on PHP2Shell: Exploitation attempts and remediation trends
Just last week companies were saying php2shell has been rampant for months, but if that were the case, wouldn't we all have strange errors in our logs? Something seems fishy to me.
nubinetwork··on Nvidia discusses $2k-per-GPU annual fee for software
> At what point do market forces take over, and give Nvidia the collective middle finger ?

I haven't bought an Nvidia gpu since the 980. /shrug

nubinetwork··on Oldest GUI application that still runs on Windows 11
Not until they settle on one control panel.
nubinetwork··on Tesla cancels Cybertruck in Australia and NZ after 7 years of deposits
What's 7 years of interest on $150AUS? Follow the money...
nubinetwork··on Making My Blog Readable by AI Agents
I get the odd one try on my personal site, but usually its just robots.txt... /shrug
nubinetwork··on Listen and read USA nuclear forces Emergency Action Messages, heard on 11175 kHz

nubinetwork··on How does Fable 5.1 hide messages in images?
Since svg is a "described" format, can't you just stuff text comments into the file? No weird steganography techniques needed, afaik...
nubinetwork··on Quad9 (DNS Resolver) to Exit France
That was 20 years ago
nubinetwork··on ThinkPad I9990303 Error Catch-22
Some early computers with a key toggled the keyboard power, rather than preventing someone from turning off the power switch... I guess it was more important to keep people from typing things than it was keeping the system powered up. The 80s and early 90s were weird times. /shrug
nubinetwork··on Security advisory: Critical remote code execution vulnerabilities, update now
Maybe that explains the terrible rng...
nubinetwork··on Upcoming critical PHP security release (CVE-2026-109618 / -109619)
> umamusume

How does a mobile game use PHP? Wouldn't the game code use a custom socket and protocol for its comms?

nubinetwork··on Nurses Are in High Demand–But They're Quitting in Droves
They're also replaced in droves. We build hundreds of new student accounts at $dayjob on a monthly basis.
nubinetwork··on The reverts will continue until morale improves
> ...you’re staring at a list of like forty defect reports. And even if each of them requires only a three-line fix on average, there is a fixed overhead to dealing with each of these, and then you run out of time.

I'm not sure I understand this, for an OSS project, the only timeframes at play are self-imposed. I don't think most people would care if you pushed a release back by a week to fix some last minute bugs. /shrug

nubinetwork··on Linux 7.3
Just because you have a device tree file, doesn't mean its correct, or even accurate.
nubinetwork··on The One Question I Can't Stand at Restaurants ("What's your phone number?")
Phone number is fine, I only got one of those, it's an easy no...

The one I hate is when places ask for my email address... even if I wanted to, I have like 6 email addresses, which one do you want? Don't ask me to repeat it 20 times because you can't spell. Fuck it, I give up, no email either. :(

nubinetwork··on Waymo in Toronto
You just drive over it until it becomes a thick, flat sheet of ice... and hopefully not rutted, or else you'll get stuck trying to move your car in the morning.
nubinetwork··on eBay Restricts Listings of Radio Equipment, but Exempts Ham-Band-Only Gear
The purpose of the restriction is to keep people from using hacked baofengs to chat on bands a) they're not allowed to use unlicensed b) could potentially already be in use by another service eg EMS/fire/police.
nubinetwork··on Last rites for Gentoo's Chromium package
I tried some months ago, and it'll make a blank one fine, but if you need a complex configure or install phase, I felt I was better off doing it by hand.
nubinetwork··on Last rites for Gentoo's Chromium package
Most ai wouldn't know how to write a proper ebuild to save their lives.
nubinetwork··on Major ICQ security hole (1998)
Unix crypt only accepted 8 characters and ignored the rest. If your password was 123456789, it was considered the same as 12345678a.
nubinetwork··on Steam Client is now faster than Epic's new vibe coded launcher
A modern computer runs circles around your 90s computer... if the code was the same, it should be crazy fast. Instead, everything is a web browser, and each of them need to load 1gb of junk into memory each time you click on them.
nubinetwork··on I posted to HN, and then my website was flooded with AI bot traffic
I get llm-like traffic on domains with zero web content (never was, probably never will be any).

Just merely existing will get you scanned these days.

nubinetwork··on Making big downloads resumable in Firefox
How big are we talking? I download ISOs all the time...
nubinetwork··on Postgres isn't slow, your storage is
For what its worth, some databases just run like trash. I've put a database on nvme raid and still had some queries take 5 seconds.
nubinetwork··on Total Annihilation, rebuilt for modern computers
TA's ai was pretty dumb, actually... on most maps with unpassable water, they'll happily crank out kbots without building any ships or planes, until it hits the unit limit.
