piperly··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
How can we trust you?
piperly··on The Little Book of Linear Algebra
It is not visible to the public, I think.
piperly··on Who Invented Backpropagation?
You got it right: Leibniz!
piperly··on Harper – an open-source alternative to Grammarly
Unfortunately, the last time I tested Harper inside Neovim, it alone used more than 1 GB of RAM for just the LSP! However, the concept is nice, open source, no AI, and easy to integrate.
piperly··on Migraine is more than a headache – a rethink offers hope
I had a migraine for more than 15 years. After quitting caffeine completely as a self-experiment, it never came back. When the migraine came, I had it for at least 3 days without improving. So I had to take something with Triptan, like Dolortriptan.
piperly··on Grok3 Launch [video]
But you trust Google, OpenAI, and whatnot with it?
piperly··on Kagi News
Wow, that looks so good!
piperly··on Oasis: A Universe in a Transformer
From a research perspective, this approach isn’t new; David Ha and Danijar Hafner explored similar ideas years ago. However, the technique itself and the achievement of deploying it for testing by hundreds of users is commendable. It feels more like an experimental prototype than a viable replacement for mainstream gaming.
piperly··on Oasis: A Universe in a Transformer
Haha, it really works. Thanks!
piperly··on Avante.nvim: Use Your Neovim Like Using Cursor AI IDE
https://github.com/frankroeder/parrot.nvim is another one.
piperly··on Did GitHub Copilot increase my productivity?
This part of the final sentence encapsulates everything: "...a lot of time is wasted in the back-and-forth."
piperly··on Ask HN: Is iCloud a viable alternative to Dropbox? Any other alternatives?
I think the problem of files not synchronizing had been solved end of last year [0]. Since then I am using iCloud Drive without any issues.

piperly··on AeroSpace – an i3-like tiling window manager for macOS
I recently discovered AeroSpace through my GitHub feed (fortunately, GitHub fixed the broken feed) and tried it out immediately. As a yabai user for more than 1.5 years and an occasional user of i3, I was really curious if something that new and unknown could work as a daily driver - and it works pretty well! Using AeroSpace for close to a week, I am very happy with the switch. I reactivated SIP and added some shortcuts to skhd to call the aerospace-cli for some exotic keys AeroSpace is not supporting. I really like it being programmed with Swift, and I really look forward to diving into the code myself and helping to improve it. Furthermore, the author is really active and recently added the possibility to specify padding (I really needed the bottom gap for my SketchyBar menu a week ago - and then it suddenly made it into the latest version).

Thank you very much, nikitabibko, for this nice macOS window manager. As much as I appreciate yabai, I feel much better now leaving it behind for several reasons.

piperly··on Google will not let me pay an invoice they sent me
They are too big to care.
