During disasters such as this, I appreciate reddit's scale (and diversity) for up-to-date information in the comments.
This link was #1 for about 10 minutes:

and now has vanished, along with all other sponsored links. A horrible tragedy like this seems leagues more important than the current top link:

"Leo Tolstoy, Nikolai Gogol, Marcel Proust, James Joyce, Jane Austen, Franz Kafka, Gustave Flaubert, and Robert Louis Stevenson"
Looks like I'll be reading Metamorphosis( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Metamorphosis) tonight!
"On a separate note, I feel like we could be doing more to help YC companies. We're in awe of what you've built over there at the Y and we'd love to grab a coffee and talk more about how we could be helpful to both the companies and you."
Is the reason you should know this is satire.
This is completely prejudice! You've never met Install Monetizer, and don't know if they participate in the same activities as the companies that you're referring to.
"I believe OP is very polite: There are no good reasons to not shame them publicly."
This is childish, and I'd expect better from any contributing member of VLC.
After checking out the live demo, I have no idea how "stacking" modals could make a good user interface.
http://www.hubspot.com/pricing/
This page, does not really follow "Conserve attention at all costs" when there's a 4x7 pricing grid with confusing information scattered about it. The rest of hubspot's design is equally banal, perhaps the author has some other role in the company than design?
Obviously it's our fault for not having a redundant system / for trusting heroku. Though I still can't help but be a little pissed as I email 100 people about how sorry I am for their service disruption. Heroku didn't email me.
Awesome site design as well!
I walked into YC looking like an unshaven hobo with a stupid linux t-shirt, and nappy unkept hair. The rest of my team was only slightly less homely. After being accepted into YC, I'm proud to say that I wash my hair but I haven't adopted a suit yet...
The obvious choice of otter box came in first: http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-APL2-IPAD1-20-C4ATT-Defender-...
Second best ipad case was the gumdrop: http://www.amazon.com/Gumdrop-Cases-Drop-Red-Black-DS-IPAD2-...
The otterbox had a stand that people liked (even though it made a clunky cover) and the gumdrop one was great for full coverage (and much better made than the griffin competitors).
Our users weren't as big of a fan but speck: http://www.amazon.com/Speck-Products-HandyShell-Case-SPK-A02...
made our personal favorite. Not as much protection but the stand / carabineer functionality is great!
By the time we get around to this, we have our fingers crossed that google's acquisition of Motorola begets a sweet android tablet from google directly.
