Let's just shout "ffs, just patch yo' shit" rather than actually trying to educate people.
Let's all go to a hacking convention, and act like children and hack everything within arms reach at all times.
Let's all belittle people who don't have the same level of technical skill as us.
Let's all be arseholes to women in the field.
etc etc. that's why I took a step back, because for all the "we want to help you fix things to make the world a more secure place", the infosec industry seems to not want to help make it happen.

Also, not hacked :P
Then I have a task set to start the docker container up at 2am every morning, which then automatically backs up any new images, then the docker container stops.
Works really well.
You're having issues likely due to the "chip shortage" or whatever they're calling it these days.
There are a number of addons for Chrome/Firefox etc that allow you to block sites, usually for staying focused during work hours.
If you want to do it network wide, you could utilise something like a PiHole, but that's a bit extreme for blocking access to one site.
The other option would be to put an entry in your hosts file for www.youtube.com etc and point them at 127.0.0.1.
All photos automatically go onto Google Photos and then pulled back down to my NAS. Gmail is backed up to the NAS too. All contacts in my phone are synced to Gmail too.
Basically... Google Cloud ;)

Companies House did the right thing.
Have you ever tried clicking a "Contact Us" (or similar) link in a footer of a site that loads MORE CONTENT every time you scroll down to the bottom of the page ? Bloody annoying.

People raise petitions purely for media attention more than anything else.

Most general users of apps on phones wouldn't give an absolute crap if you "fixed a buffer overrun in the X function", because that means nothing to them. If they read that you've made performance improvements, then great they can continue to play Candy Crush but not have it crash so often. They won't CARE that you "optimised the use of the strcopy function" or some crap like that.
Remember the app stores are targeted towards consumer users of phones, not tech people that live on Hacker News websites.
