sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
Good point, I'll look into it. I'm NOT an expert in infectious disease, I study human behavior. These creepy coincidences were just gut instincts. My point was not to draw a conclusion but to just push people away from being anchored to this being like the flu.
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
Their original article was published in 2008- so what I question is why this was ever OK.
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
I'm reading this through and it's hard to understand why this isn't common knowledge
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
HOLY SHIT.
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
No- they claim that it attacks T-cells like HIV
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
I included that study but it was retracted later. I believe that it is still valuable in the context of the bigger picture of research and the conversation on the subject.

There is other peer-reviewed research which is included

sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
I don't have links about the HIV gene sequence but in the post I put every primary research article I could find about COVID-19 and HIV or T-Cells.

COVID-19 is bonding to T-cells and killing them, in a way that is similar to HIV but not exactly the same

I also posted it to Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/covid-19-hiv-follow-me-down-r...

I believe this will and should make it into the mainstream press

This was a quick write up of what I've discovered over the past week. It actually came out of research for an economic theory I was writing for the World Economic Forum. It is not a definitive argument of any kind. You can read it through this free link https://medium.com/@sarahnadav/covid-19-hiv-follow-me-down-t...

It seemed like a conspiracy theory but in all fairness- a mistake that came out of a lab is certainly a possibility.
sarahnadav··on Covid-19 and HIV: Follow Me Down the Rabbit Hole
Ya, that is noted in the post. Otherwise, it would be hard to imagine how HIV gene sequences would get in the mix. Unless perhaps there was a monkey involved...which seems less likely than this coming out of a lab

You really should try Credit, Set, Go for it to really work https://www.civilizeit.com/go
sarahnadav··on I'm not John Oliver, but my startup will be paying $1000 of someone's debt
If I were him, I would have put it in at the end, but I would have included what they did even if he didn't say he worked WITH them.

What they did was very important- and as an economist I would say that they deserve to be included in the history of dealing with this massive debt problem

sarahnadav··on I'm not John Oliver, but my startup will be paying $1000 of someone's debt
Just FYI- this has been part of our marketing plan for weeks- the John Oliver thing is just a coincidence.
sarahnadav··on I'm not John Oliver, but my startup will be paying $1000 of someone's debt
Funny you say that. I thought it was weird that he didn't mention it because I've been in the industry for years.

But apparently, he left them out on purpose so as not to be associated with Occupiers (according to them) http://blog.debtcollective.org/whos-afraid-of-occupy-hbos-jo...

sarahnadav··on I'm not John Oliver, but my startup will be paying $1000 of someone's debt
Also- just FYI, John Oliver was paying off expired medical debt which was actually very useless and one of the most annoying media exploits of the defaulted debt industry I have ever seen. He didn't actually help anyone.

Plus he was copying Occupy Wallstreet that paid of 35 mil of actual medical debt for people and forgave it without giving them any credit.

I am really glad that you love the concept. We'd appreciate some HN love because we have something that I think can make a huge difference for people.

Yes, you enter by signing up to the free service, which then takes you to a page informs you of your legal rights to protect against harrassment and fraudulent debt, and gives you a bunch of useful resources.

If people are in debt, we want to give them more than just money.

sarahnadav··on I'm not John Oliver, but my startup will be paying $1000 of someone's debt
OK- the tagline WAS click baity, but we've been planning it for weeks. It just happened that John Oliver did his thing last week

We also just did a Memorial day campaign for members of the military (you can see the page on our site)

sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
Sadly, the problem is too widespread to blow off. I already have women asking me for the clause because the fear is real and so is the damage.

We are not talking about a workplace romance, this is a very specific relationship, between founder and investor and it shouldn't be so hard for investors to know and clearly get the message that it is inappropriate.

sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
This isn't about the "workplace" this is about the Tech industry. And really about investors and founders. Given the small percentage of women, especially holding high level roles- I believe that it would be almost statistically impossible for women to be the main perpetrators
sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
remember- this isn't for within the company, this isn't a workplace relationship.(for the most part) this is about investors and founders. And just like you have to go to HR for an office relationship, you would need to do something similiar in a case like this
sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
these are terms that I am working on with my lawyer- and I am sure investors will have some push back and changes of their own
sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
I think it should be a mutual agreement- it's not as if one side has the right to be a "bad actor"

Although, I have literally never heard an investor complain about this as a problem. (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist)

But this is about a power dynamic and putting proper boundaries in place.

sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
Did you actually read the post? I think I make it pretty clear
sarahnadav··on I am adding a “sexual misconduct clause” into all of my investment agreements
there are all kinds of "bad actor" and nuclear option moral clause. I personally (as a founder) once had to sign a "non-embarrassment clause" where I guaranteed not to embarrass the investor.

Since I am basically creating this with my lawyer, I am going to make it unambiguous- either a recorded conversation, a verifiable conversation on text/whatsapp/email, a photo or in extreme cases a rape kit.

In my opinion this should be a deterrent rather than something that would ever need to be enforced. But it can't be a "he said/she said" either

I went back and looked at it- you can see it here. The majority of the worst comments were actually flagged and delted. So what you see now is nothing like what the conversation was like in real time https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11105161
