Rather than jump through more hoops, I'm just going to give up on reading this one.
As an American, my next OS will not be Windows.
In just about every sport, the teams have coaches. So no, having leaders do not indicate broken game design.
I mean when you are literally removing 1 person from possible injury, you literally can't have the same number of bodily injury claims. It can only be less.
Fortunately there was no sting in the tail of this tale, and Ms Alonso-Mossinger said it now felt "like it is a funny story... but it was pretty scary at the time".
They sacrificed clarity for word play, but to me this means that no one in the story was stung. It looks like just saying yes buys you an extra 3 months and paid time off to interview to find a new job.
The link for the site points to a notion.site address, but attempting to go to this address without javascript enabled (for that domain) forces a redirect to a notion.so domain. Attempting to visit just the basic notion.site address also does this same redirection.
What this ends up causing is that I don't have an easy way to use NoScript to temporarily turn on javascript for the notion.site domain, because it never loads. So much for reading this article.
With this in mind, I can see a large former factory building being converted into vertical farming and then selling fresh produce, year round, to select clients at a premium.
Being able to farm and produce year round is also quite a nice bonus. You can largely ignore the weather, except where it impacts your supply chain.
All that said I think it's a fine idea and a great use for previously used industrial spaces.
I just don't care at all about someone's "lost potential revenue". I consider it to be the same as skipping commercials with watching TV, or adblocking the web today.
I think a lightly styled html box with the tweet as text would be the best of both worlds.
But I do think it's quite a bit early for it to be said that they beat Amazon. They made it past one hurdle. I would wager that Amazon's anti union playbook has many more planned.
I am reminded of what happened when a Walmart store unionized. Walmart closed the store down. That doesn't sound out of the realm of the possible for Amazon.
I do have the user option to use the old UI turned on in the user preferences, so reddit.com and old.reddit.com are the same to me.
So I went to reddit.com in a private window (not logged in) and it came right up.
The title reads like Upwork has a plan to suspend users that live in Eastern Europe at some point in the future. But the post itself is just about Upwork's lack of transparency about suspending one user.
I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.
Where do you draw the line?
Was there a way to politely respond to this person without kowtowing to them?
Maybe by adding an option to disable the santa hat, where it's on by default, but you can turn it off?
Google has been sprucing up their search page for years now; Many a santa hat has been present, and people were both annoyed and happy, and also apathetic. Would Google have responded similarly, if some random person had a pipeline right to their developers?
It feels like even though some random person with a complaint got his wish, everyone else lost something. Like the ability to put something fun in your software without being overly concerned about offending one person.
