spicavigo··on Show HN: CodeBlimp – Code Interviews Without Limits
CodeBunk pricing is pretty cheap compared to either of above. $9 for 20 interviews
spicavigo··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (March 2016)
I interviewed at IFTTT. Amazing guys. They are working on cool stuff and are a fun bunch.
spicavigo··on HN Office Hours with Jared Friedman and Trevor Blackwell
Not yet. Do you think that I should? I mean, in terms of potential return.
spicavigo··on HN Office Hours with Jared Friedman and Trevor Blackwell
Thanks! That seems like a good playbook. I will start simultaneously on a couple of those.
spicavigo··on HN Office Hours with Jared Friedman and Trevor Blackwell
Hi Jared and Trevor,

I created https://codebunk.com. Its an Online Interviewing Tool for developers. Its the best tool out there. It provides code execution in 23 languages, collaborative editor, REPL shells, AV Text chat, Teams, Question banks and a lot more.

Its cash flow positive and has some of the coolest clients.

However, the rate at which it acquires new customers is pretty low (~3/month). I have exhausted (or nearly exhausted) avenues of generating buzz (PH, HN, Reddit, some tech publications). As a developer without any help, how do I promote CodeBunk further? What's the best way to reach my audience (Hiring Mangers, CTOs)?

A long time ago, I wrote GoMR too :)

spicavigo··on Ask HN: Comprehensive Rust Tutorial?
It targets 0.11 so building something while reading it causes a lot of pain!
spicavigo··on DuckDuckGo Returns No Results for Soft Robotics
Interestingly, when I click to Turn On "Region", it shows a bunch of results
spicavigo··on Show HN: SimplyBuilt – Makes building a website so easy, your mother could do it
Cmon. Say something constructive about the OP's work. Event 'it sucks' would be acceptable but nit-picking on title of the post is not good. Let OP know that his/her title is inappropriate or sexist, but please also help OP by answering the his/her's question

I am using Firebase for RT editing on http://codebunk.com.
spicavigo··on You can't impress developers
If you are not impressed, ignore. If you smell something fishy about the developer, call it out (Giving benefit of doubt wherever possible. For eg, the developer could have started to code a week ago, or he wrote the translator in 1 hour flat. All admirable acievements). Just don't be evil.
spicavigo··on You can't impress developers
Of course, expecting HNers to be intelligent enough so that the obvious utilities don't need to be spelled out will be wrong. If you don't spoon feed us, we will talk trash.
spicavigo··on Steve Jobs Screwed with apple
Why so quick to judge the guy(OP)?
spicavigo··on What's a good way to find talented people to hire?
Right heree onH of course. There is a monthly Who's Hiring post. Try posting there next month.

spicavigo··on Great Programmers Write Debuggable Code
Oh cmon. Why can't programming be just fun. Why this obsession with great programmer and expert coders and the likes. Just pick a problem and hack away. Most importantly, have fun.

Every week I come across at least 10 articles telling people about what makes a great programmer. Sometimes its test code, sometimes its some concoction of agile or xp etc, other times its about functional and oop.

Let it rest guys. Just go and hack.

spicavigo··on Was Joel wrong?
Totally agree with you. I take exception with the statement "Nobody cared then and nobody cares now, because synchronizing files is just not a killer application."
spicavigo··on Was Joel wrong?
Of course. Hence the title says "Was" and not "Is"
spicavigo··on Enable tab-completion in the interactive interpreter by default
I don't remember the last time I used anything except iPython. I use EC2 a lot, and the first thing I do after firing an instance is install ipython, even if I don't intend to use the instance for python related stuff at all.
