Its a fun project, all done using free tier.
I got it all done in probably an hour or two. But done in 10-15 min blocks over many days.

I do a mix of architecture, solution design and probably 15-20 hours of coding in a week. Nowadays, experimenting with elixir/phoenix. Location: India

We are transforming a monolith to cloud native services and APIs using dotnet core, REST APIs, redis, rabbitmq, AWS.I my eyes it was a game changer.
I once got it on second word - it was pure chance. I am now waiting for the day when I get it on the first attempt. :-)
This is just cheap.
There are times when a client selected person is not taken in but the reason has never been what you have described.
Please do not generalise.
- Works terrible in bad networks.
- And the thing I hate the most is the shifting of images, links when the page is still loading. But this may be a implementation issue.
To me it looks like we are increasing the surface area for a attack - again this is a hunch, a kind of smell test.
But I also see that react etc are running away with all job offers.
1 and 2 can be helped with a bit of discipline and perseverance.
The client is to blame. The client let go of all the people who knew the technical side of the product and has hired an architect to re-architect everything. And the client is in a hurry.
Because then how will one do career development? We are building now for a client and the client wants it, I can feel it in my bones that what we are building is far more complex and will be difficult to maintain. I am no expert in microservices but this hunch is just coming from common sense.
