wavefunction··on Retailers Don’t Like Paying the Fees for Apple Card
Time to check out the article and find out if you were right!
wavefunction··on White House Veterans Helped Gulf Monarchy Build Secret Surveillance Unit
It's working for me in Chrome with uBlock on.

the tldr is that Americans (former officials, former NSA hackers) built an offensive hacking unit for the UAE that is now targeting other governments and activists in the region. Women's rights activists in Saudi Arabia and journalists and such.

wavefunction··on How to Buy a Private Jet
It's easy to be wasteful and come out ahead in the short-term. I guess it's just some more plastic in the ocean or landfill to him.
wavefunction··on Finnish minister Sanna Marin, 34, to become world's youngest PM
At least in the US city councils there is often a hotbed of politics and corruption it seems. I consider the city-council/property-developer interface to be the greatest scale of corruption in the US.
wavefunction··on Robots in Finance Could Wipe Out Some of Its Highest-Paying Jobs
Who needs CEOs when it's machines all the way down? Presumably two or more AIs will have some method of reaching consensus.
wavefunction··on Great White Sharks Are Terrified of Orcas
Pack-hunting tactics. Think about fighting one guy versus fighting even two or three guys of comparable size and capability.

wavefunction··on Study Finds Wind Speeds Are Increasing, Which Could Boost Wind Energy
Unless the wind gets too strong and you can't kite surf as much anymore...
wavefunction··on Facebook adds corrective label on user's post under new Singapore fake news law
Freedom of speech has nothing to do with private platforms that are subject to market effects. Zuckerberg's claims that corporations can and will guarantee free expression is obviously not true.
wavefunction··on The Siege of Gondor, Part I: Professionals Talk Logistics
Orcs were corrupted/mutated elves and uruk-hai were corrupted/mutated humans iirc but could be mistaken It wouldn't necessarily be cannibilism then.
wavefunction··on India considers commissions cap for Uber, Ola, unsettling industry
Family size may be a holdover or maintenance of a tradition that was once needed due to infant or child mortality and agricultural practices that require manual labor.
wavefunction··on Psilocybin for major depression granted Breakthrough Therapy by FDA
It's actually a change in perception and perspective. Since consciousness and reality are subjective results of individual perception and perspective, there is an altering of consciousness and experienced reality. Perception being perceiving and mapping out the external world outside of the individual mind. And perspective then deriving a meaningful relationship between "I" and external Abstract or Concrete Things X.

wavefunction··on Cook: ‘China Hasn’t Pressured Us’
>few come close to the power held by companies in various colonies

any petty despot enjoys the same level of power

wavefunction··on Scientists Confirm Water Vapor on Europa
I guess I wouldn't expect to read an article about scientists discovering water vapor in Europe. Water vapor on Europa however is momentous and I can only wonder if we might be closer to finding extraterrestrial life somewhere in our solar system.
wavefunction··on Scientists Confirm Water Vapor on Europa
What Europa would be confused for the moon Europa?
wavefunction··on Tesla Cybertruck
"gonzo" means crazy or over-the-top Not familiar with "gonzo ball" but it probably means "large amount of craziness"
wavefunction··on Tesla Cybertruck
They're definitely a suburban status item in much of the West of the US.
wavefunction··on FedEx responds to The New York Times article from Nov. 17, 2019
There was never an era like that, it's more nonsense and outright propaganda from schemers who want to claim that their own free-style lies are just as valid as formal journalism.
wavefunction··on Trashing Teens (2007)
Is short-term thinking a problem limited to teenagers? It seems even more problematic in adults who wield the power and from what I've seen short-term thinking is very prevalent at any age group in humans.
wavefunction··on Diamonds Keep Getting Cheaper
For our international readers, this is very uncommon behavior among Americans (taking out mortgages for a diamond ring) and it seems unlikely since it would require one of the two members of the marriage to own a house as a single person, which is also uncommon among Americans.

Spending too much on a diamond ring is common though

wavefunction··on Diamonds Keep Getting Cheaper
It takes a special kind of person to be happy with a cheap thing they paid way too much for.
wavefunction··on Diamonds Keep Getting Cheaper
Is that a problem or simply a fact? It seems like cheaper diamonds improve my life much more than more expensive diamonds would.
wavefunction··on Apple Eyes 2022 Release for AR Headset, 2023 for Glasses
headphones? I guess I'm surveying their entire ecosystem
wavefunction··on The 'Glass Floor' Is Keeping America's Richest Idiots at the Top
> the government would be left holding 80 billion dollars worth of stock, which they can't really do anything with.

The government seizes securities all the time and sells them with no problem. They probably couldn't sell all 80,000,000,000USD of stock all at once but neither can anyone else.

wavefunction··on Apple Eyes 2022 Release for AR Headset, 2023 for Glasses
>it seems like they're later to market rather than on the cutting edge of things but bring a high design quality

That was true of Apple under Jobs but Tim Cook's legacy is one of terrible quality assurance and superficial design over considering function. Apple is coasting on their legacy.

wavefunction··on Saudi sovereign-wealth fund backs Travis Kalanick’s new startup
They were fired three years after "what they did," and they included Kalanick in the original communications so it seems more that they were fired upon being publicly caught.
wavefunction··on Zuckerberg doubles down on Facebook political ads policy after Twitter ban
No I don't agree. I am just pointing out that you have outlets available to you. From what I can tell the media is mostly about middle-of-the-road inoffensive capitalism.
wavefunction··on Zuckerberg doubles down on Facebook political ads policy after Twitter ban
>Progressives dominate the media

Don't y'all have Fox News and Sinclair Broadcasting?

wavefunction··on Twitter to ban political advertising
Those are a civil rights group and a health care provider. If your politics are opposed to civil rights or health care then you may consider them "political" but they aren't. Not by any reasonable definition.
