wut42··on DeepSeek V4 Pro 0813
Fallback are still very useful and won't poison much your cache hits too much if the provider is down anyway.
wut42··on Someone is running mass vulnerability scans, spoofing AI bots like ClaudeBot
Years ago, I built a sort of camo-proxy like, in Elixir. It was doing full passthrough of the User-Agent because the project that I originally built it for needed it for the upstreams (i don't remember why). Anyway, I ended up pulling it into pleroma -- a couple of months later, we had been informed by some instance owners that google itself were sending them DMCA notices, because it was proxying googlebot's request, with its user-agent!

Exactly the same experience. I really loved GLM5.2 for a while, but after trying it again after riding DSv4 flash (new) for a while, they're mostly at the same capabilities, with GLM being slower and much, much more expensive. A task cost me 2$ where it did very wrong, whereas Flash nailed it almost instantly for like a rounding error on my billing page.

It is a pain from openRouter if you don't define your providers correctly, but for DeepSeek, surely not- the weights aren't released yet and there's only one provider, DeepSeek.
wut42··on Your ePub Is fine
> Wipro now manages and distributes any new updates, enhancements, bug fixes, and support requests directly

> Create your new ByteBooks ID using the same email address that you used for Adobe ID

Seems sold mostly.

wut42··on Show HN: Thermal Receipt Printers – Markdown and Web UI
Already replied the same in another comment, but I recently got the "YHD-8390" on Aliexpress for around 100$ - has wifi, usb, ethernet, and works pretty well.
wut42··on Show HN: Thermal Receipt Printers – Markdown and Web UI
thermal printers are centuries backwards from anything like CUPS.
wut42··on Show HN: Thermal Receipt Printers – Markdown and Web UI
An easy way to do this, which I use to print recipes with my TP, is to render the page as an image. I use dom-to-image for that.

I recently got the YHD-8390 on Aliexpress for around 100$, works pretty well. Connects by Ethernet, USB and Wifi. Having plenty of fun with it.

Which site ? seems to work fine for me.
wut42··on UK: Phone networks down: EE, BT, Three, Vodafone, O2 not working in mass outage
And Australia 2023 outage of Optus, also BGP related: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Optus_outage
wut42··on UK: Phone networks down: EE, BT, Three, Vodafone, O2 not working in mass outage
Another Down Detector bullshit article.... it's getting incredibly tiring. Every time a provider (Phone, Internet or even cloud services) suffer issues ALL of them are reported as down.
wut42··on NPM stylus package contained malicious code and was removed from the registry
Could be! Other comments (~~can't find them now as the issue got full of useless comments~~ e.g. https://github.com/stylus/stylus/issues/2938#issuecomment-31...) also noted that the GHSA bot have nuked a lot of other npm packages since days or weeks in the same fashion, so it could also be an AI scanner going full full nuclear.
wut42··on NPM stylus package contained malicious code and was removed from the registry
That could track but people in the GitHub issue ( https://github.com/stylus/stylus/issues/2938#issuecomment-31... ) have found that no "other" version of Stylus has been released.
wut42··on NPM stylus package contained malicious code and was removed from the registry
The package was pulled at: 2025-07-23T03:03:01.239Z

And the GHSA advisory: 2025-07-23T03:03:56Z

So the GHSA was released after the pull (by a minute).

wut42··on Show HN: Clippy – a better pbcopy for macOS that handles files properly
already exists, xsel and xclip does that, iirc.
wut42··on Chrome's hidden X-Browser-Validation header reverse engineered
I don't see how you can "protect" against a large language model that cannot do browsing.
wut42··on 'Gwada negative': French scientists find new blood type in woman
TMZ is a very respectable publication if you compare it to Entrevue...
wut42··on Websites are tracking you via browser fingerprinting
CGNAT does not means unroutable IP, it just means you would only have assigned a small range of ports on a routable IP with others.
wut42··on OpenAI dropped the price of o3 by 80%
Hetzner is famously notorious for this, but not enough for publications to pick up this. So by your definitions, YEARS of people talking about their experiences with this is nothing?

Or just a solver API like 2captcha.
wut42··on Cloud Run GPUs, now GA, makes running AI workloads easier for everyone
L4 are pretty limited nowadays. It's usually rented at 40ct/hour on other providers.
wut42··on Cloud Run GPUs, now GA, makes running AI workloads easier for everyone
Definitely -- and yet it's kinda a feat compared to other solutions: when i tried Runpod Serverless i could wait up to five minutes for a cold start to a even more smaller model than a 4B.

Thank you. I was hesitating to post the facebook source but back when I submitted there was no other coverage.
wut42··on Vultr Raises $333M at $3.5B Valuation
I get you! In this case it was mostly legitimate. Each brand had a segment; just like Vultr had the cloud segment. It only ate the other ones.

I don't see why Constant exist now tho that it's all Vultr.

wut42··on Vultr Raises $333M at $3.5B Valuation
it was Choopa before being Vultr. They had other brands. Current holding has renamed to "The Constant Company" or something.
