cosinetau··on Ask HN: Who wants to be hired? (November 2026)
Principal Software Engineer and Open Source Maintainer with 7+ years of experience as a core contributor to open source platforms. I'm a versatile full-stack developer with deep experience in backend architecture, distributed systems, and building complete data/ETL pipelines.

Beyond coding, I am focused on creating business value and bridging the gap between engineering, customers, and operations. I recently led the end-to-end delivery of a multi-tenant B2B compliance SaaS that tracks over 50M retail-ready units per month. I have also authored 10 comprehensive technical proposals for state government projects and deployed an OpenClaw agentic AI system into a phone-support CRM that slashed agent recovery time by 75%.

I'm looking for a senior to principal-level role where I can solve complex technical challenges and drive business value.

cosinetau··on There isn't an easy exploit for this PHP vulnerability
In my Slim PHP application container, the only way I could reproduce the PHP2SHELL behavior was by adding `index.php` and `upload.php` from the attached gist to the webroot.

As others have said, there are probably other ways to reproduce it, but it requires a lot of prior knowledge of the app environment, or at least a good guess.

cosinetau··on Show HN: I made a cheap alternative to college-level math & physics tutoring
Hi - math student here too. Have you asked any image AIs for graphical representations of these Linear Algebra problems? How did those attempts go?

Asking because visualizing the problem scenarios was something that did not come right away for me, and I had to spend a lot of time in the tutoring center to build it. I believe the right prompt might yield the right thing.

That answer seems to lack self awareness. A lot of people saw how a few VC-back companies using open source software could get them rich, and then they executed.

Why else are do many folks find it absolutely necessary to post their product announcements on places like this?

cosinetau··on Why are online recipes so long-winded?
Thanks for writing in VLM.

No one in this comment thread made any claim of any recipe or particular chili recipe being "good".

Your summary is confusing to me, because whatever the "normie middle of the road" idea we are supposedly now discussing does not have anything to do with what I said or had asked questions about.

cosinetau··on Why are online recipes so long-winded?
Can you help me corroborate your theory of historically accurate chili? I can not find any document supporting your "thousands of years" claim.

It not hard to believe that native people dumped some of the earth's best vegetables into a pot and let them steep, but, I can not find _any_ support for your claim.

I genuinely hope you enjoy your historically-accurate, bean-laden chili, but now I am suspicious; I know that LLMs can not really enjoy the richness in any chili.

cosinetau··on Why are online recipes so long-winded?
Beans do not belong in chili. They are probably writing so much in hopes you do not notice.

cosinetau··on React I love you, but you're bringing me down
By the same extension, would you consider your comment worthy of the same classification of "cringey"? How you feel about the delivery is not relevant to the topic, and if you had opted not read to it, it would not be the person in the arena that would be at a loss because of it.
cosinetau··on Ask HN: How do you deal with the emotions of customer support?
I feel like making the suggestion to go to someplace else with your grievance is a moment in a conversation after the participants understand the immediate blockers to an issue. These CS responses always resembled a stonewall to me. It is not how I would make that suggestion.

I leverage that response by trying to make the client feel like I am bringing them closer into the loop. Make getting involved in the suggestion board feel more like an invitation. Let them know of the team that wants to hear from them. If on-boarding is not considered a part of a client's problem-pain calculus, white-glove the sign-up process. Since people have gotten comfortable with video calling, clients have enjoyed getting personal attention from executives in 30-minute qualitative meetings with the product team.

But, then I would know for sure you have missed the point.
