daedhel··on Time to fork the FSF
Or are opportunistic assholes who capitalize on any occasion.
daedhel··on Time to fork the FSF
I should not say this as it brings nothing to the conversation, but thank you.

This hypocrite Job Mania is making me sick and your opinions expresses pretty well parts of my resentment..

daedhel··on Time to fork the FSF
So it's time to fork the FSF because this guy does not agree with one comment RMS did?

How is this not overreacting in the first place...

daedhel··on Low-end Linux
I guess a i386 chroot would be too ressouce intensive for your case?
daedhel··on Krugman on BitCoin
But the absolute variation of the value the 5$ represent is based on systems that can't exist with a limited total amount of money.

What will hapen is that if the population doubles, then the 5$ will also double. Laws of demand and supply.

daedhel··on The Problem of Vsync
I regret that DirectX won over OpenGL.
daedhel··on Arch Linux moves up to Linux 3.0
How so ?
daedhel··on Arch Linux moves up to Linux 3.0
I used Arch for years.

But in the last year, my system broke 4 times with updates mainly due to major changes in configs, wich weren't in the news.

This distro is not stable.

It's time to go back to Sid.

daedhel··on IBM executive says PC era is in its twilight
It is even better with GNU/Linux! I have never witnessed a software crashing the whole system.
daedhel··on IBM executive says PC era is in its twilight
I think you are spot on. Just like big sound system aren't really dead in an era of miniaturisation, or vinyls aren't really dead in an era of digitalization, PCs or laptop won't really die in an era of cloudification.
daedhel··on IBM executive says PC era is in its twilight
I'm not sure i'm convinced by the argument that the cloud is a good thing because the hardware failures will have less consequence.

Apple sold a laptop that melted two weeks after it was bought. They could, instead, have made a laptop that WOULD NOT melt two weeks after it was bought.

I see the cloud as the biggest threat to individual online freedom and privacy. I will continue to buy big Thikpads, and avoid the cloud and tablets and the likes, at all costs.

daedhel··on Reddit Sees Massive Growth & Hires New Programmers
Strangely, this growth happens in the exact same time I ponder leaving reddit because of its degradation.
daedhel··on How to replace 30 laptops (and $10,000) with 150 sheets of paper
This is true, unless the move to technology was a way to control the results of the poll...
daedhel··on Fedora 16 To Use "Btrfs" Filesystem By Default
Well the thing is that Fedora is the testing platform for RedHat.

Fedora is for the desktop users, it is used to test new features, and what RH finds interesting, they add it to their server oriented distro, Red Hat Linux.

So, the fact that Fedora is not server oriented is by design.

daedhel··on Iceland Pursues a User-Generated Constitution
Of course, the country has to be free from any corporation control. It has to be not that interesting in term of ressources.

Of all the small countries, this leaves, well, ahem... Iceland.

daedhel··on Iceland Pursues a User-Generated Constitution
I share your skepticism. You see, I have been thinking a lot a bout democracy, decentralization and recent Iceland politics.

My conclusion is that the smaller you go, the more democratic olitics are. Period.

I share my criticism of the political globalisation, just to be laughed of afterward, but I still believe that the smaller, the most democratic, as is explified in a great way by Iceland.

daedhel··on Iceland Pursues a User-Generated Constitution
While your critic is interesting, let me just point out how this way of doing democracy is far superior to any western country.
daedhel··on Fedora 16 To Use "Btrfs" Filesystem By Default
The comments, so far, seem to perceive this change as negative. I, myself, think it is something really good for the overall innovation int the FOSS ecology to have a distro comited to testing new features.
daedhel··on Netflix To Come To Linux Via HTML5
My thoughts exactly. How will they make HTML5 DRM friendly? I thought it was designed to be an open vehicle...
daedhel··on [dead]
I, for one, would certainly find a use for a specimen like this, who is fluent in Emacs and C.
