As someone who has gone through this for some 20 yrs, it's usually a faster commute to travel from Hoboken to pretty much anywhere along/south of the PATH line during peak hours (so 34th down to the southern tip of Manhattan) versus a starting point of the UES/UWS (which is where the comparable housing exists).
My commute from Hoboken to various startup locations in NYC was consistently ~45 minutes door to door, versus an hour for my friends on the UES/UWS.
By importing a function and assigning a 1 char alias to it, the readability of the code is impacted.
Did you mean to say tags point to a commit?
For the latter two, no disagreement there. For the former two, there is a difference between returning a verbose response within the context queried and expanding the inclusive parameters of the query. 'git remote -a' makes no sense as all remotes are equivalent (there is no such thing as a local remote).
As for the handling of the websockets, setting the pipe_timeout variable in the vcl file would release any persistent, yet silent, connections.
(these points are for MongoDB 2.0+)
1. Adding a new shard in Mongo will cause the data to be automatically rebalanced in the background. No application-level intervention required.
2. Node failure (primary in a RS) is handled without intervention by the rest of the nodes in the cluster. Network partitions can be handled depending on what the value set for 'w' is (in practice it's not an isolated problem with a specific solution).
3. Using mongos abstracts the need to know what node any data is on as each mongos keeps an updated hash of the shard keys. Queries will be sent directly to the node with the requested data.

Wouldn't take much for someone to whip up a script to parse the search results to build a list of usernames to bounce off of. There's also a fair amount of item-specific data too.I believe his account is the only one that is made public. Obtaining a list of usernames is as easy as a 'site:oink.com' search in google.

update - seems that she had some success with links last night. Looks like they've fixed perms in the meantime.https://twitter.com/#!/cristinacordova/statuses/180708226696...
TigerTrade (https://tigertrade.com) is revolutionizing the way global sourcing is done online.
Hiring:
Frontend Engineers - http://bit.ly/wkZ7yg
Backend Engineers - http://bit.ly/wDmSbU
Both positions will be first hires and work directly with me to build out our product offering across multiple delivery platforms (web/mobile/api/carrier pigeon) and reach a global market of buyers/suppliers/service providers. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to have a large amount of responsibility and say in not only what is built, but how we go about building it (Lean + sprint.ly + validation === fun).
Currently the stack includes a custom build of Nginx, PHP5.3 (lithium), MongoDB, Redis, memcached combo, and that grows as our needs will. Local sandboxes are configured using Chef, Vagrant, VirtualBox, git - and it comes with a MBP w/ display(s) of your choosing to boot.
If you're passionate and smart (and know Python/Java), there's going to be a huge opportunity for some serious data analysis, recommendation and visualization as we build out our discovery engine based on the huge amounts of manifests, trade documents, behavioral and product data that we aggregate from and about our industry.
We're funded, we're growing, we enjoy working with each other (but we like to go home at the end of the day as well), and we'd love to hear from you.

As for doing their homework, from the events surrounding SOPA which have taken place to date and in reading the list of amendments to be discussed, I don't believe these JC members - save for a few like Lofgren, Polis, Sensenbrenner, Chaffetz - have done their homework.
Two of the most important amendments over the next two days: * performing a study on the impact of any bill prior to its enactment (why this isn't a part of judiciary procedure escapes me) * an expiry on the provision of the bill after 5 years, which I think is a wonderful idea.
They also provide a quick overview of their architecture if anyone is curious @ http://www.muscula.com/architecture
The only line in that article that I take issue with is the following: Even so-called educational videos do not benefit children under 2 because they are too young to be able to understand the images on the screen, the doctors’ group said.
Maybe it's because we read to my son daily and have incorporated teaching him sign language from the time he was 4 months, but he most definitely can recognize the images on the screen and frequently both speaks and signs the correct image on the screen (balloon, duck, dog, car). If we had never done any of these activities with him then I highly doubt he would be able to recognize the images on the TV, and there might be a distinction between understanding and recognizing that I am not making, but he most definitely is displaying some sort of connection between the images on the TV and the books/drawings/in person experiences he has.
I think the key take away from this, or other studies of its kind, is that passive media should not be the influential experience that a child so young should be exposed to.
2 CSS booboos:
- .main-description has 2 font-sizes, the second should be font-weight.
- in styles.css the images/line.png image returns a 404 on line 26.
Now here's where things get a little tricky.
Fangguo Foods produces items like snack foods, flour and noodles, which obviously have nothing at all to do with any Apple products. As a result, Apple's trademark assertions seem misplaced and without merit. Recently, though, Fangguo had filed applications to extend its trademark to 16 different product categories, one of which includes "notebook computers" and "electronic-game software."
And therein lies the rub.
Fangguo received the status of "Famous Nanchong City Trademark" in 2007 and "Famous Sichuan Province Trademark" the following year. Zhao explained that he registered Fangguo's logo under so many seemingly unrelated product categories not because he had specific plans to expand to other types of manufacturing, but just in case he did meet somebody who wanted to produce, say, Fangguo computers, he would be able to expand the brand name.
In the world of trademark law, a company that doesn't actively seek to protect its trademarks is more likely to lose the ability to enforce them. Consequently, it makes a whole lot of sense to go after Fangguo for their trademark given that they are looking for trademark protection in an area where Apple already operates.
As for the data corruption, I didnt see you mention if you were checking for a response on saves or not.
I think the problems you experienced were due much more to the fact that you apparently had more data than the machine could handle, not necessarily the database engine used.
The hosting of your CSS files on their servers is also not suited for a development environment that has more than 1 environment, as I would not want to be editing files that are on a live server on a regular basis without first making those changes locally (and possibly checking them into an SCM of some sort first) because my css would quickly become out of sync across environments.
May I ask, the projects that you work on, do you have more than 1 environment that you use and do you collaborate with any other developers on these projects?
Any site I've ever worked on I've always had atleast 2 environments, a local environment and a live environment. Any company I've ever been a part of has had at least 3 environments (sandbox/qa/live) and it's very common to have a dev and staging environment on top of those as well. The reason you have a minimum of 2 environments is so that you can do all of your testing without breaking the live environment, which is what this tool seems to ignore.
