fithisux··on LibreNT – how AI slop infects Windows clean-room engineering
If the slopper needs some vision, porting LibreNT to run atop NeptuneOS would be more interesting instead of reverse engineering.
fithisux··on The Aardappel Programming Language – Concurrent Tree Space Transformation
This is intriguing?

What is the proposal her?

It can be implemented in Haskell with less code?

I am not an SML guy, mostly an Algol type guy.

Is there a way to do the same in some other Algol type language?

fithisux··on MEPs tell China: Your exports are hurting our industry
It is happening 30 years. It is surprising that "now" they are worried. Sounds like war preparation.
fithisux··on Software may be getting worse, but it used to be horrible
"Software may be getting worse, but it used to be horrible"

So now, it is worse than horrible.

fithisux··on Allocating Off-Heap Memory: Typically 6-18x Faster in JDK 28
SWT 3.0 uses Skija. But it is also JNI.

Yes, you are right.

fithisux··on Do you want to keep your job? Stop feeding AI models
FOSS code is about people, not mass scavenging of machines that will put them to misery.

Either licensing should ban this kind of use or stop FOSS altogether, because it is like giving sugar to diabetics, "out of compassion".

fithisux··on Do you want to keep your job? Stop feeding AI models
This why syndicalism should have thrived in the tech sector. But most devs thought that they were gods.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

fithisux··on Kazakhstan Expands Compute for Its AI Future
Fascism gets an AI upgrade.
fithisux··on AI and the Collapse of Capitalism
Capitalism is giving back its place to feudalism. As a society we are regressing.

I liked the article.

fithisux··on Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office
I don't think they took the migration seriously. When you do such migrations you complement it with other tools.
fithisux··on Allocating Off-Heap Memory: Typically 6-18x Faster in JDK 28
SWT does native calls. I expect these advancements to make it faster.
fithisux··on The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable
For something as unpredictable as the climate, setting goals is not viable.
fithisux··on Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers
Is there a font manager program for Windows?

I see repeated posts on various fonts these days and I would like to try them.

Is manual installation the only option?

fithisux··on It's still ok to enjoy programming
Yes, because you were silently fired as a developer and rehired as an AI manager. You can't compare apples and oranges.
fithisux··on Free Pascal compiler now supports dynamic packages
3.2.4 is in RC2.

There is also a Mooncompiler 2.4.11 targeting Delphi 12.2.

fithisux··on Free Pascal compiler now supports dynamic packages
The page lists a FPC 3.2.3 while the official is 3.2.2 with 3.2.4 in RC2. I do not understand it.
fithisux··on The Intel 8087 chip: floating-point addition and subtraction
Sample assembly x86 code for this FPU.
fithisux··on Free Pascal compiler now supports dynamic packages
It may find its way into MoonCompiler, if not already there

fithisux··on Free Pascal compiler now supports dynamic packages
The truth is we need more expository articles like this.

Silver Pascal coder is doing a lot of Pascal evangelism, but he is alone.

fithisux··on Abolish AI Manifesto
Abundance is not the main target of communism. Fairness and liberty.

Christian Communism also adds Morality according to the Bible.

fithisux··on Ispa parser generator got first release
Congratulations for the hard work.
fithisux··on JDK 28
I am looking forward these advances to reach IntelliJ/Eclipse and Netbeans.

fithisux··on How to Formalize All of Mathematics
$ChatGPT> "How to Formalize All of Mathematics?"

AI has all the answers. Why read the article?

fithisux··on Smart people don't think others are stupid (2012)
There are no smart/stupid people. Only benevolent or malevolent.
fithisux··on Microplastics in water aren't inert and make damaging chemicals on their own
And in seed oils from the plastic bottle.
fithisux··on Celebrating 70 Years of Fortran
The company I work for, has a subscription to O'Reilly. While searching for something "side", unrelated to day by day job, I ran across the beautiful book "Modern Fortran". The Fortran in the book (2008+ standard)is very different from the clumsy lectures of F77. It is a beautiful language. I'm sold.

PS: The book creates a tsunami calculator and evolves it by adding Modern Fortran features chapter by chapter.

Bill Sky the Fortran guy on Youtube is another very elementary but excellent presentation.

There is an increasing amount of material out there and the people on Fortran Discourse are very knowledgeable and helpful.
