issafram··on Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros
Are the downloads through http/tcp or some other protocol?
issafram··on Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros
If only there was an easy setup/tutorial for Usenet. I have no idea what I am supposed to pay for and what client program to use for acquiring files.
issafram··on Molly: An Improved Signal App
Says it's on F-Droid and it isn't. Search turns up no results
issafram··on Android and iPhone users can now share files, starting with the Pixel 10
I've for a Pixel 8 Pro, with the latest Android version. I hope they enable this in the future. No reason for it to be only for the 10+
issafram··on Gaming on Linux has never been more approachable
Installing a working Nvidia driver was a nightmare for me. And this was on a very recent version of Ubuntu.

I don't know if I would use the word approachable

issafram··on I just want working RCS messaging
It literally isn't Google only. It is enabled, by default, on all iPhones. Stop with the misinformation.
issafram··on I just want working RCS messaging
Not dead in the water at all. By default, it is enabled for all Android phones and iPhones
issafram··on I just want working RCS messaging
I'm surprised at the other responses that you have received.

RCS isn't a Google only thing. And it isn't an "app". It is disappointing that people don't understand that RCS is a great replacement for SMS/MMS.

issafram··on Cloudflare outage on November 18, 2025 post mortem
I give them a pass on lots of things, but this is inexcusable
issafram··on .NET MAUI is coming to Linux and the browser
So you've never used WinForms, WPF and MVC
issafram··on .NET MAUI is coming to Linux and the browser
WPF as well
issafram··on Tell HN: Azure outage
I've used AWS, Azure, and recently GCP. You do NOT want to use GCP.
issafram··on AWS's sudden removal of a 10-year account and all of its data: lessons learned
Go to the actual source and you will see he posted an update and new article.

He ended up getting his account and data back.

issafram··on Scientists may have found a way to eliminate chromosome linked to Down syndrome
I read the abstract but I'm still a bit confused. Will this help people who have down syndrome? Or is it a way to help future pregnancies?
issafram··on Private sector lost 33k jobs, badly missing expectations of 100k increase
I used to have multiple recruiters reach out to me daily on LinkedIn regarding software engineering positions.

And this was for multiple years.

That hasn't been the case for the last 3 or 4 months.

None of this surprises me and it shouldn't for others.

issafram··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (June 2025)
Started as a curiosity and turned into a small little app (not encouraging or discouraging use) https://github.com/issafram/torrent-ratio-booster/tree/main
issafram··on Why not use DNS over HTTPS (DoH)?
Are there any guides on how to set this up?

I'm currently using pi-hole configured to use DoT through Cloudflare.

issafram··on Show HN: I wrote a Java decompiler in pure C language
Yea I saw that after looking it up. I wasn't questioning the statement, but me personally I wouldn't look at each file and look for license violations. That's all.
issafram··on Show HN: I wrote a Java decompiler in pure C language
Yea I'm not criticizing you. Was just genuinely curious. Thanks
issafram··on Show HN: I wrote a Java decompiler in pure C language
I'm curious, how did you notice this?

Do you have a scanner that checks these sorts of things or is it something that you are passionate about?

issafram··on Cursed Excel: "1/2"+1=45660
good explanation but reader beware; this is an advertisement for an excel like product
issafram··on Rsync replaced with openrsync on macOS Sequoia
fyi latest version of Windows 11 supports native opening of 7zip files
issafram··on Why F#?
You're being way too nice. Java stream is nowhere near as easy to use as LINQ. I'd say that LINQ is easily one of the top 10 coding features that Microsoft has ever created.
issafram··on Mozilla site down due to "overdue hosting payments"
You work for Mozilla?
issafram··on An update on Mozilla's terms of use for Firefox
this didn't make things better
issafram··on Microsoft is killing Skype
I remember loving Skype before Microsoft bought it. I started using it very early on. It was amazing. I remember they had something like public groups (I forget the name). Think of it like a Twitter Space. I was in there every day.

Some people might remember "his highness from India". Good times arguing and listen to others argue with him.

issafram··on Pi-hole v6
FINALLY. that dev branch was out there forever
