xigoi··on sshole
But in shell, 0 is true, not false. The program called true returns 0.
xigoi··on Kitty 0.50
I think you are confusing variable fonts with proportional fonts.
xigoi··on Kitty 0.50
I do whenever I want two websites displayed next to each other or when I want to have them in separate workspaces, which is pretty often.
xigoi··on Mathematics has changed. Let's act like it
But it now takes 3 times as long because you constantly have to cross roads.
xigoi··on With 86% of the words, you might understand only 38% of an anime's lines
I’d disagree with that. For example, in many sentences, the most load-bearing (heh) word is “not”, which is also one of the most common words.
xigoi··on Zero click, silent, remote Android DoS
IIUC, someone can brick your phone by sending you an SMS. That sounds pretty serious.
xigoi··on The Exponential Time Hypothesis Is False [pdf]
Even if all NP problems could be solved in sub-exponential time, it would not imply that NP ≠ EXP. It seems that many people here are confused about what EXP means – it’s the set of all problems that can be solved in at most exponential time, including those in P.
xigoi··on The Exponential Time Hypothesis Is False [pdf]
This is not a proof of NP ≠ EXP. NP ≠ EXP would mean that there is a problem that can be solved in exponential time, but not in non-deterministic polynomial time. That’s completely different from what they have shown.
xigoi··on Now Google says it might use your Gmail and Google Photos data to target ads
It’s much cheaper, having an unlimited plan for just $10/year, or even less if you choose usage-based pricing. Otherwise I don’t know as I’ve never used Migadu.

TIL that Purelymail supports DAV. When was that added?
xigoi··on Your Phone Is About to Stop Being Yours: 70 Days Until Lockdown
For now. They’re going to remove that option after everyone gets used to the new normal.
xigoi··on Kimi K3.1 Pro and K3.1 Pro Highspeed
Don’t worry. When SlopenAI and Antslopic run out of VC money, all the models will be equally expensive.
xigoi··on Reforming English Spelling
Typically, in informal writing, you write it as you say it in your dialect, and in formal writing, you use the standardized form of the language if there is one.

Purelymail. Really cheap, just works and doesn’t get in my way.

xigoi··on Meta ordered to pay $25B penalty in New Mexico Cambridge Analytica case
Even if you stole 43 million cars?
xigoi··on Getting Banned from r/java
> Insisting on hand-coding a project for these reasons is akin to choosing a shovel over an excavator

This is a great analogy because an excavator is much more expensive than a shovel and can’t fit into small places, so it’s only worth it for large projects.

xigoi··on Facebook now charging to post more than 2 links a month
Of course they’re not free for Meta, as they allow people to access other sites than Facebook.
xigoi··on JPEG XL vs. AVIF for web use-cases
I use JXL/AVIF/WEBP images on my website and don’t have videos, ads or unnecessary JavaScript.
xigoi··on Wayland desktop for Linux with skeuomorphic design
> Discoverability in CLI is --help.

Unless it’s one of those programs that are like “unrecognized option --help, use -h to see help”.

xigoi··on Iosevka is an open-source, sans-serif and slab-serif monospace font
How does the existence of a serif variant change anything about the original sans-serif font not having serifs?
xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap
Microslop uses it. If you want to login to a corporate Microslop account with a passkey, you have to use Microslop software.
xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap

How do you log in without having the passkey?

xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap
> Then guess what - people stop using those websites.

You can’t just stop using those websites if your university uses them for student/employee accounts.

xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap
Only if the website allows you to use Bitwarden for the passkey.
xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap
As the previous article says, some passkeys are open, while others require lock-in, and megacorporations deliberately create confusion between the two.
xigoi··on Passkeys are not a trap
On an iPad/iPhone, you are not allowed to install apps not approved by Apple.
xigoi··on Iosevka is an open-source, sans-serif and slab-serif, monospace font
Where do you see the serifs?
xigoi··on The tilde in your PATH may not be your HOME
Whenever I’m SSHing, I am not doing complex stuff that would require intricate knowledge of the shell, so it suffices to remember the basics.
xigoi··on The tilde in your PATH may not be your HOME
Fortunately, 99.9% of the time I’m on my computer, where I can install whatever I want.
