BlackRabbit1··on Longitudinal Changes InWearable-Captured PhysiologyBefore Sudden Cardiac Death
Beautifully formatted paper by the way.

Love the colors and graphs. They transport a lot of data without looking bloated-by-design.

By definition a case report describes a single patient (n = 1).
BlackRabbit1··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
It's like that one lab rat that destroys you entire research thesis by misbehaving. lol.
BlackRabbit1··on Samsung running a TensorFlow lite model on 960x540 image to track you
Just look for "Heretic"-ed models on Huggingface.

Basically all Qwen models got un-neuthered.

Even the big ones (Deepseek, etc.) got their protection layer ablated.

BlackRabbit1··on Tool book of a Nuremberg knight from 1505
The entire website looks heavily LLM written/analyzed - and I'm not talking of the design which I'm fine with.

This devalues the scientific value a lot because every line must be checked for correctness and source.

The book itself is very beautiful and I'm thankful for the high quality pictures.

Time to invest a few tokens into an unneuthered model

Mediatek modem firmwares can be fully reversed.

This was recently demonstrated by this ultra wide range receiver hack which directly sampled the data from the modem ADCs.

That's how LLM organizing the takeover of the modern world.

BlackRabbit1··on Chinese stocks turn biggest losers as global AI trade stumbles
Although I deeply respect the progresses in open AI research from China I'd never touch a single Chinese stock in my life.

BlackRabbit1··on Google cloud outage takes down banks
Maybe they mix it: serving fonts/pictures/etc over scalable cloud providers and hosting confidential data themself.
BlackRabbit1··on Google Cloud outage affects almost all banking and other operations in Europe
Most likely it knocked out the "Ing" bank in Germany.

BlackRabbit1··on Germany's 17M Immigrants: Where They Come From
The entire car industry around Stuttgart (Mercedes Benz, Porsche, etc.) was basically build on on shoulders of Turkish immigrants. They are a huge part of the workforce there.

Lots of them are very wealthy and basically DIN Germans by now.

BlackRabbit1··on DeepSeek search and fetch – $0.75 per 1000 successful requests
Most of your local requests will fail (with Python/Curl/whatever) if you are not using a remote-controlled Firefox/Chrome. And even then you will be bitten brutally by captchas, rendering them basically unusable for mass requests. So it's better to outsource your web search to an external service with a stable API.

The existing search machines that offer free APIs for local harnesses are super bad with low quality.

This is worth the invest as LLMs can be guided closer to existing information/code to adapt it.

BlackRabbit1··on AI-assisted PCB design for KiCad 10
Honestly: Lots (all?) of AI styled text on that repo and not a single PDF with an example schematic/board.
BlackRabbit1··on Muse Spark Open
NPUs you can find in AMD high-end CPUs are closer to specialized DSPs (basically big VLIW/SIMD vector units).

People love doing heavy math stuff with them (https://destevez.net/2026/05/getting-peak-tops-on-a-ryzen-ai... - not my blog)

BlackRabbit1··on Picothermal – WebUSB Thermal Camera Using RP2040 and Flir Lepton
Thermal cameras from far east are much much much cheaper and capable (=higher resolution up to non-interpolated 640x480 without selling your kidney) in 2026.
BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
Maybe have a look at the Zyxel WSM20. This beast costs ~20€ and has a Mediatek chipset.

I was able to get ~40MBit/s of low-rate I/Q out of it.. but didn't patch the Wifi modem firmware as you did.

BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
Satdump group uses them receiving all kind of weather satellites. They are mastering S-/X-Band stuff for ages already.

Ham radio operators looking forward using them for 13cm and 5cm band stuff.

> Am I understanding that this is doing something the chipset wasn’t designed to do?

Every WiFi modem has a testmode. It's required to verify the TX/RX chain during manufacturing and for compliance testing.

Seemingly you can read out the entire spectrum at full rate.

BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
Yet.
BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
I'd assume top notch if it's Wi-Fi certified. And basically all Mediatek modems are.

You cannot sell them with the tag if it wasn't connected to standardized certification test system at least once.

> ADRV9040

Yes. That's a very modern design. Lots of MIMO.. so I assume you will find that beast in cellular base stations.

I'd more see it as a huge jump in the higher frequencies.

>2GHz basically became cheap now over night.

Thanks to Claude&co. it now only takes maybe a few hours to find (or brute force ) potential registers to spit out raw I/Q streams. The last huge breakthrough there was the now rather old Rtlsdr project around the Osmocom dudes.

BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
320MSPS at this frequencies for less than $100 that can be extracted over 10GBit/s.

This was worth upper 4- to 5-digit of dollars of equipment before.

I work in this industry and sold more than one kidney for this stuff.

Same for the ESP-SDR project. Most likely it can be used for transmitting on S-Band for satellite control in the future (with an amplifier, dish, maybe some filtering). The HF-Frontend is Wi-Fi certified and therefore quite clean. I've forwarded this project to a friend who's close to ESA staff.

BlackRabbit1··on Turn a WiFi 7 Router into a 320Msps Software Defined Radio Receiver
Claude or not: It's a huge breakthrough for ham radio and signal analysis.

We now can programm more manual tuned stuff to turn this into a full 13cm and 5cm radio as it was proven to work.

Before the esp-sdr hack and this one both bands were quite difficult and pricey to reach.
