Because you can walk to an ashtray and pick out cigarette butts, which is about as dirty as the prostitution.

Also why ADHD meds, prescribed legally, are rampant on college campuses.
Realistically, I think the US University experiment does a good job teaching this with first-hand experience. Giving a kid significant access to money they'll make in the future, surrounded by positive and negative opportunities to spend that money, and no clearly correct path to follow since the answer is dependent on your personal background. That's a recipe for learning to think quickly. Though, it's like pushing the baby bird out of the nest, you might only have one shot to get it right.
Also note, these are spotlight LEDs that in the past were halogen, and not your standard sized lightbulbs, which are probably a few generations ahead in terms of manufacturing.
I once drove one to move something (the cab/bed being five feet off the ground wasn't as helpful as you'd think \s). The experience was somewhat surreal, like driving in an air traffic control tower. Much different than a u-haul (my only other trucking experience).

The healthcare insurance industry absolutely needs to be destroyed.
One day, we'll look back at this debacle similar to cigarettes, big industry manipulating the population and millions of people dying unnecessarily because of it.
It's time to end the suffering.
Edit: seems like all substack pages are down for me (except home). Not a good look for a service that hosts something so simple to get right. And too bad for this guy who is missing out on the HN subscriber wave.
I'm sure there's a niche, though. Like low-paid workers needing to do a lot on their crappy personal machines.

Works in theory...
Edit:
@vmception: If something leads everyone and their grandmothers to "invest" then it deserves scrutiny. And there is nothing to respond to.
I mean "yes sir, that's right, you have knowledge of financial instruments and speculation, very good, now I'd like to ask why you're OK with people mistaking this as a serious investment instead of the quant-level speculation you are referring to, sir, thanks."
Those societies also existed alongside slavery and tons of other bad shit. So how does that change the value of a functional government?
